Ms. Malveaux and Ms. Perry discussed the book they wrote together, Unfinished Business: A Democrat and a Republican Take on the Ten Most Important Issues Women Face, published by Perigee. The book is designed to offer contrasting political perspectives in order to provide a balanced understanding of these topics. The topics discussed include reproductive rights, childcare, taxes, crime, education, and equal pay. In addition to presenting their partisan assessments of the issues, Malveaux and Perry urge women to take active roles in changing policy. They suggest that any forward progress has been the direct result of the pressure that women have put on structures and systems in our society. A question and answer period followed the co-authors' presentation. close
