Ms. Angier discussed her book on Holocaust survivor Primo Levi, The Double Bond: Primo Levi, A Biography, published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Levi (1919-87) was an Italian Jew from Turin who was trained as a chemist. He was arrested by Italian Fascists during World War II and deported to Auschwitz, where he was imprisoned from 1944-45. He was a chronicler of the Holocaust and published several memoirs. After her presentation, Ms. Angier answered questions from members of the audience. close
