Presidential Historians Richard Reeves and Michael Beschloss, participating by remote connection from Boston, discussed U.S. presidents and U.S. foreign policy from 1960-1975, including how Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon dealt with foreign policy crises such as the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War, and Cambodia. They also discussed the Oval Office recordings of these presidents that involved foreign policy. They responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail.

Conference in Boston later today. Mr. Beschloss is the author of The Conquerors: Roosevelt, Truman and the Destruction of Hitler’s Germany, 1941-1945, published by Simon and Schuster. Mr. Reeves is the author, President Nixon: Alone in the White House. close
