The two panelists discussed the progress of the Supreme Court’s current term, and considered whether Justice Souter has had any effect. The Court has decided approximately one-third of its cases, thus far. The panelists agreed that, contrary to predictions, the events of this term have been quite interesting, the justices seeming to have solidified into a conservative Court. Justice Souter’s has contributed seven votes in opposition to the chief justice’s opinions, which is unusual for a new justice. close
