Officials spoke to reporters about the progress of an investigation into the loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia. They said that they had reached a stage in the investigation at which they would concentrate on coolant foam striking protective tiles upon liftoff as the working hypothesis for the ultimate cause of the accident. Following their remarks they answered questions from the reporters. close
