President George H.W. Bush spoke at a reception for the 1991 NCAA Division I men’s basketball champion team Duke University, and the 1991 NCAA Division I women’s basketball champion team University of Tennessee. He urged the members of both teams to continue volunteer efforts to instill the importance of education in younger students. He named both teams as being a metaphor for the nation’s education strategy. President Bush was then presented with commemorative material by both teams. close
