Road to the White House:

On Wednesday, May 21, 2003, President Bush spoke at the 2003 President’s Dinner hosted by the National Republican Senatorial and Congressional Campaign Committees at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Other speakers include Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, House Speaker Dennis Hastert and Senator Orrin Hatch. The President’s Dinner is an annual fundraiser to bring in money for House and Senate campaigns. This was President Bush’s first fundraising event for the 2004 election. He raised about $22 million at the dinner.

At Georgetown University on Wednesday, May 21, 2003, Senator Joseph Lieberman unveiled a health care plan that focused on finding cures for chronic diseases. He said that the plan would save billions of dollars in health care costs and reduce the financial burden on the health care system.
