On America and the Courts this week, two commencement addresses and a special reading by Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.

First, from May 3, 2003, White House Counsel Alberto Gonzales delivered remarks to graduates at Miami-Dade Community College in Miami, Florida.

Then, California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown addressed graduates of the Catholic University School of Law in Washington, DC on May 24, 2003.

Finally, from March 3, 2003, Justice Stephen Breyer visited with elementary school students in the Supreme Court Library. Justice Breyer read Oh The Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss to 4th-graders from Washington D.C.'s Watkins Elementary School as part of the National Education Association’s “Read Across America” program. Justice Breyer regularly participated in this reading program; this is the first year he has read Dr. Seuss. close
