In a ceremony held in the Rotunda, the Kansas congressional delegation, former Kansas Senator Bob Dole, and others dedicated a new Kansas statue to be placed in Statuary Hall. It replaced a statue of Kansas Governor George Washington Glick with a sculpture depicting Dwight Eisenhower as a U.S. Army general. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Eisenhower’s inauguration as president. close
