After the presentation of the colors, dignitaries spoke at the dedication ceremony to open the new Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas. Mr. Brokaw served as master of ceremonies. Senator Dole talked about Kansas, his career, his World War II experiences and thanked many people in the audience.

Music was provided by the Lawrence, Kansas Children’s Choir. Susie Culp of Indiana and Jack Lucas of Mississippi were singled out by Senator Dole for recognition. close
