In a ceremony honoring Representative Bill Young (R-Florida), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, his official portrait was unveiled in the committee room of the Rayburn Office Building. The five years he has served as chairman of the committee was the longest tenure of any Republican in 75 years. Representative Young was serving his 17th term representing the St. Petersburg district of Florida. He is the senior member of the Florida delegation. close
