Mr. Marsden talked about his book, Jonathan Edwards: A Life, published by Yale University Press. Following prepared remarks, Mr. Marsden responded to questions from the audience. Mr. Edwards was a theologian and author who lived in New England during the first half of the eighteenth century. He witnessed the battles between the Native Americans, French Catholics, and English Protestants. Edwards himself was raised as a Puritan, but spent most of his theological career attempting to balance the devout religious life with the Enlightenment movement. Mr. Edwards wrote a number of famous sermons, including "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God". close
