Two U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals judges, Judge Kozinski and Judge Reinhardt, talked about their experiences on the court. The judges were appointed by presidents Reagan and Carter, respectively. Among the issues discussed were liberal and conservative courts and judges, judicial activism, constitutional interpretation, and the filibustering of judicial nominees. Ms. Krinsky moderated the discussion. The judges responded to questions from the moderator and the audience.

During the previous year, the Supreme Court heard more cases from the Ninth Circuit than any other federal appeals court. Ninth Circuit decisions are also more frequently reversed by the Supreme Court than decisions from any other circuit court. The U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals covers the states of California, Arizona, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. close
