Mr. Kidder talked about his biography, Mountains Beyond Mountains: Healing the World: The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, published by Random House. Dr. Farmer himself joined Mr. Kidder for the discussion. The book follows Dr. Farmer from his childhood in Florida to his education at Harvard Medical School, then to his establishment of the Haitian clinic, Zanmi Lasante, and finally to his status as an international expert in treating communicable diseases. Mr. Kidder also recounted his experiences with Dr. Farmer, following the doctor around the world on his quest to educate the public about conditions in Haiti and solicit funds for work there.
