The Human Rights Campaign celebrated its Seventh Annual National Dinner at the Washington Convention Center. Speakers paid tribute to the leadership of Ms. Birch in campaigning for human rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender persons. She will be ending her tenure as executive director of the organization at the year’s end. After being introduced by a video biography, Representative John Lewis gave the keynote address. Mr. Henderson introduced a video tribute to Ms. Birch. Former Vice President and Mrs. Gore introduced Ms. Birch, who made the closing remarks. close
