Panelists talked about ethics in journalism. The journalists told stories of instances when they had kept secrets or chosen not to run certain stories. It was generally agreed that information which might put lives in jeopardy should not be revealed. They also talked about the recent controversy over Robert Novak’s column, in which he identified CIA agent Valerie Plame. Mr. Kalb moderated the panel. Panelists responded to questions from the moderator and the audience. close
