Former Representative Coburn (R-OK) talked about his book, Breach of Trust: How Washington Turns Outsiders into Insiders, published by WND Books. In the book, the author explains how he believes the political system can turn the most reform-minded freshman members of Congress into career politicians. Dr. Coburn set term limits for himself prior to taking office in order ensure maximum effectiveness as a citizen legislator. The book states that some politicians are more concerned with personal perks, power, and re-election than with effective government. He discusses his three terms in Congress and argues that career legislators are bad for the country. close
