Louis Rukeyser, syndicated columnist and host of the public television program “Wall Street Week,” delivered the commencement address to the 1991 graduating class of the College of Business Administration at American University. In her address, Mr. Rukeyser expressed optimism about the American economy and America’s stature in the world. He went on to advise the graduates that perhaps graduating during a recession may actually be to their advantage, since they will learn “economic reality” during their initial postgraduate lives. He wished the graduates well on their entry into a world that is embracing capitalism and economic liberty. close
