In a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day speech titled, “What Would Martin Say?,” Ms. Brown talked about the status of African Americans. She criticized the Bush administration’s Iraq War policy and continuing U.S. poverty, particularly in the African American community. She also criticized African Americans in the Bush administration. Ms. Brown, a former leader of the Black Panther Party, talked about the history of the party, about her role in a prison reform movement, and other topics. After her presentation she answered audience members' questions. close
