Mr. Arax and Mr. Wartzman talked about the book they co-authored, The King of California: J.G. Boswell and the Making of a Secret American Empire, at the Exeter Veterans Memorial Building. In the book, published by PublicAffairs, the authors recount the story of the Boswell family. The Boswells moved from Georgia to California in the 1920's, and subsequently started a little-known cotton farm that today covers 200,000 acres and is America’s largest single-farm producer of wheat, safflower, and seed alfalfa. During this event, the co-authors read from the book and responded to questions from the audience. close
