Massachusetts legislators met for the second day in a joint session for a constitutional convention to debate an amendment to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. The debate was prompted by a decision and clarification by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court instructing the legislature to recognize same sex unions. At midnight the convention was adjourned until Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 2 p.m. close
