As part of the National Conference on Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Dr. Marks talked about accomplishments and initiatives of the Centers for Chronic Disease Prevention. Topics included epidemics in obesity, diabetes and asthma. He answered audience members' questions. 

Secretary Thompson compared the costs of prevention in health care to the costs of direct medical services. He talked about better screening examinations, measuring the quality of health, nutritional foods, insurance credits for losing weight, and other topics. close
