National Endowment for the Humanities Chairman Lynne Cheney discussed a recent National Endowment for the Arts report titled National Test: What Other Countries Expect their Students to Know. The report reviewed national testing and learning abilities of students in other countries. The Bush administration is considering a national test for high school students. The test would have to be passed by high school students prior to graduating. Currently, nations such as Germany, Japan, and France have national tests which must be passed before a student graduates. close
