Mr. Denby talked about his book, American Sucker, published by Little Brown and Company. The book is a memoir of the dot-com boom and subsequent crash. Following his separation from his wife of 18 years, the author invested heavily in and became obsessed with the stock market. In the book, Mr. Denby examines the significance of the stock market in American culture, and describes the thrills and disappointments of his experience. He also discusses his reasons for investing in the stock market, market insiders with whom he was acquainted, and the role of greed in defining priorities. Following prepared remarks, he responded to questions from members of the audience. close
