Dr. Dorothy Hardy was interviewed by telephone from Florence, Alabama, about her life and career. She read her essay “Now and Then” which was a winning entry in the C-SPAN 25th Anniversary Essay Contest. She told how after retiring from a life of activism, watching C-SPAN stimulated her to action. She started a creative writing course for the community that was based on history. close
