On April 22, 1971 Senator Kerry testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee about his opposition to continued participation in the Vietnam War. At the time Senator Kerry was a former Navy lieutenant who had served two tours in Vietnam and was decorated for his heroism. Following his service he became active as a veteran opposed to the war.

Mr. Kalb was interviewed via telephone about his reactions to the testimony as a reporter for CBS News.

The testimony shown includes the entire opening statement and audio and video portions of the question and answer period. Footage was obtained from NBC News and Pacifica Radio. close
