Mr. Mosier talked about his book, The Blitzkrieg Myth: How Hitler and the Allies Misread the Strategic Realities of World War II, published by HarperCollins. In the book, the author challenges the conventional belief that Germany’s early successes were the result of strong armor and air force tactics. He argues that the greatest misconception of World War II was the blitzkrieg myth, the idea that the introduction of tanks and airplanes to the battlefield would allow major breaks through enemy lines and lead to their rapid destruction. Mr. Mosier asserts that one of the important factors in determining the outcome of the war was the discrepancy between the blitzkrieg strategy and the realities of warfare. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
