Paul Driessen talked about his book, Eco-Imperialism: Green Power, Black Death, at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Mr. Driessen argued that many of the global policies supported by U.S. environmentalists increased the misery of poor people living in the Third World. He argued that large dam projects, genetically modified crops, and pesticides like DDT, all popular targets for U.S. environmentalists, did more to improve the lives of the poor in places like South Asia and Africa than most people realize. The talk was hosted by the Madison chapter of Collegians for a Constructive Tomorrow. After his presentation he responded to questions from members of the audience. close
