A panel discussed the effect of the new campaign finance laws and the role of special interest groups in the presidential campaigns. One aspect discussed was the redirection of money to state parties and local races. Money was becoming harder to track as it was divided between different recipients. The Internet sources for tracking campaign funds were discussed and methods of investigation for reporters were discussed. After their discussion the panelists responded to questions from members of the audience. close
