Michael Ybarra talked about his book Washington Gone Crazy: Senator Pat McCarran and the Great American Communist Hunt, published by Steerforth. The book discussed the life of Senator Pat McCarran (D-NV), who was one of the leading anti-communist crusaders of the 1950's. While often overshadowed by the McCarthy hearings, Mr. Ybarra argues that Senator McCarran did more to take away civil liberties than any other Senator during the Red Scare. After his presentation he responded to questions from members of the audience. close
