Mr. Eichelkraut talked about whether the federal mandatory retirement age for airline pilots, air traffic controllers, law enforcement officials, firefighters and others makes sense or should be ended. Mr. Eichelkraut testified the previous day about this before the Senate Special Committee on Aging. Federal retirement age is 60 years for pilots, 56 for air traffic controllers, and 57 for federal law enforcement, correctional officers, and firefighters. He responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail. close
