Juan Williams talked about his book My Soul Looks Back in Wonder: Voices of the Civil Rights Experience, published by Sterling. The book is part of the Voices of Civil Rights project, a collaboration between AARP and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights to build an oral history archive of the civil rights struggle in the Library of Congress. This book celebrates the involvement of ordinary people in the struggle for freedom instead of the celebrated leaders. Mr. Williams related some of the stories about how people joined the struggle, focusing on how they realized their personal connection to the other peoples of the world. Following his remarks, Mr. Williams responded to questions from the audience. close
