Attorney General John Ashcroft spoke about his experiences in the Bush Administration and his decision to resign his position. He spoke about his accomplishments in the war on terror: “We’ve worked to secure our beloved homeland.” He spoke about efforts to improve coordination between the Department of Justice and state and local law enforcement agencies. He noted that violent crime levels are at historic lows and credited the “record high” of “gun crime prosecutions.” He also spoke about the separation of powers and his support for the President. close
