Ms. Laurie Garrett talked about threats to U.S. public health and national security posed by various epidemics around the globe. Among the topics they addressed were U.S. foreign relations policy, the openness of other government’s about public health problems, and disease control and prevention practices. Ms. Dentzer moderated the conversation and also touched on potential influenza pandemics and the current state of HIV/AIDS treatments.
