Ambassador Hill talked about the Korean peninsula and developments there. He noted that the U.S.'s course of action in South Korea includes lowering the number of its forces and placing them farther away from the demilitarized zone. He said that many younger South Koreans are more well-disposed towards North Korea, partly because they do not remember the Korean War. He said that the U.S. should be careful not to have bilateral contact with North Korea, but should stay within the six-party context. After his speech, the ambassador answered audience members' questions. close
