Panelists talked about the impact of new technology on the publishing industry and authors in general. After their discussion they responded to questions from members of the audience.

The event was held at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park in San Francisco and hosted by the Copyright Clearance Center.

Ken Goffman is the founder of the magazine Mondo 2000 and the author of The Revolution: Quotations from Revolution Party Chairman R. U. Sirius and Design for Dying (co-written with Timothy Leary). Michael Kanellos is editor-at-large at CNET News.com, a technology news website. Glenna Matthews currently teaches U.S. women’s history at University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of The Rise of Public Woman: Woman’s Power and Woman’s Place in the United States, 1630-1970 and 'Just a Housewife': The Rise and Fall of Domesticity in America. Gary Luke is editorial director for Seattle’s Sasquatch Books, a regional publisher. He previously worked as an editor at Simon and Schuster, Plume/Dutton/Penguin, and Dell/Delacorte. close
