Mr. Bader, a former U.S. Trade Representative talked about trade relations between the U.S. and China. On January 1, 2004 China had the ability to increase its world textile exports due to the expiration of elements of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. Mr. Bader was joined by Mr. Tantillo to discuss how that will influence the U.S. economy, as well its affect on U.S. economic relationships with other countries. The guests responded to telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail from viewers.

Mr. Tantillo responded on the telephone from Virginia. He discussed his perspective on the lifting of quotas on textiles from China. His organization represents American textile manufacturers. close
