Authors Bowden and Griffin were interviewed by Mr. Turzanski about U.S. foreign policy issues in their fiction and nonfiction books, including the current war in Iraq. Mr. Bowden’s book Black Hawk Down focused on street combat in Somalia and Mr. Griffin’s newest novel, By Order of the President, from Putnam Publishing Group, is about thwarting a terrorism attack in Philadelphia. Mr. Bowden’s most recent book is Road Work: Among Tyrants, Beasts, Heroes, and Rogues, published by Atlantic Monthly Press. It is a collection of articles on modern war from his former newspaper, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and from The Atlantic Monthly. They also answered audience members' questions. close
