The first two hours of a debate on same-sex marriage from the Canadian House of Commons was shown. Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin opened the debate. He introduced a bill to legalize same-sex marriage, focusing on the government’s responsibility to protect minorities. He was followed by Conservative Party Leader Stephen Harper, who opposed it the bill, as well as other members of the House.
