Secretary Rice and Foreign Minister Machimura and defense chiefs spoke to reporters about the relations between the U.S. and Japan and a meeting between the two delegations. Among the topics they addressed were mutual security interests, and policy toward North Korea and Taiwan, events in the Middle East, and future mutual cooperation efforts. Following their remarks they answered questions from the reporters.
