Former President George Bush shared his experiences from recent trip he made with former President Clinton to the areas damaged by the tsunami in Southeast Asia. During the program, titled “From Despair to Hope,” former President Bush narrated a slide show depicting flattened villages, reconstruction efforts and drawings by children impacted by the natural disaster. He was joined by a panel of men who accompanied him on the trip to Southern Asia: Douglas Hartwick, the U.S. State Department coordinator of the Tsunami Reconstruction Task Force; Tony Freemantle, a reporter for the Houston Chronicle; and Mark Ward, an expert on Asia for the U.S. Agency for International Development. Following his presentation they answered questions from the audience. close
