The National Press Club held a panel discussion on the state of journalism, the role of Internet web logs, or “blogs,” traditional news media outlets, partisan political discourse, and accuracy in reporting. They also talked about business pressures on mainstream media outlets, the recent influence of Internet columnists on fairness and accuracy in news reporting, and the future of the news business as more information becomes readily available from Internet sources. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
