Jorge Ramos talked about his book, Dying to Cross: The Worst Immigrant Tragedy in American History, published by Rayo. It was the story of 19 Mexican immigrants who died while illegally crossing the American border in May 2003. The guest interviewer was Linda Chavez, president of the Center for Equal Opportunity, a public policy research organization.

Jorge Ramos had been the co-anchorman for Noticiero Univision since 1986. Mr. Ramos writes a weekly column for more than 40 newspapers in the United States and Latin America. He is the author of No Borders: A Journalist’s Search for Home, and The Latino Wave: How Hispanics Are Transforming Politics in America. Mr. Ramos was born in Mexico, and currently lives in Florida.

Linda Chavez was president of the Center for Equal Opportunity, a public policy research organization in Sterling, Virginia. Ms. Chavez was also a political analyst, wrote a weekly syndicated column, and hosted a daily radio show in Washington, D.C. Ms. C close
