Tariq Ali talks about his books Speaking of Empire and Resistance: Conversations with Tariq Ali, published by New Press and Street-Fighting Years: An Autobiography of the Sixties, published by in a new edition by Verso. In his remarks he focused on public perceptions of military operations in Iraq, resistance to war, media coverage of the Iraq war and other global tensions, and compared current attitudes on foreign policy to those in the Vietnam era. He also read passages from his books and answered questions from the audience. close
