Mr. Abrams talked about his book Speaking Freely: Trials of the First Amendment, published by Viking, which describes his career as a First Amendment lawyer. It examines eight of the most important cases of his career, including the defense of the Washington Post's printing the Pentagon Papers and the Brooklyn Museum’s right to exhibit controversial art without government regulation. During the presentation, Mr. Abrams answered questions regarding his current work defending the right of journalists Judith Miller and Matthew Cooper to protect their sources. close
