Mr. Goodman talked about his book Let Me Create A Paradise, God Said to Himself: A Journey of Conscience from Johannesburg to Jerusalem, published by Perseus Books Group. Author and journalist Hirsh Goodman wrote about his early life in Apartheid-era South Africa and his experiences after he moved to Israel in his late teens. He talked about the racism and anti-Semitism he experienced in South Africa and drew parallels between the civic divisions in South Africa and Israel. The author also called for major changes in the current situation between Israelis and Palestinians. He argued that reform was necessary if Israel was to be a democratic state free of terrorism and constant internal strife. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
