The Subcommittee on Tax, Finance, and Exports and the Subcommittee on Rural Enterprises, Agriculture, and Technology of the House Small Business Committee held a joint hearing on barriers to free trade with China. They focused on the impact of unfair trade practices by China, specifically currency manipulation, theft of intellectual property rights and the lack of viable labor standards and other regulations with which U.S. businesses must comply. China was currently the third-largest trading partner for the U.S., the second-largest source of U.S. imports and the fifth-largest U.S. export market. close
