Jonathan Mahler was interviewed by Mr. Perlstein about his book Ladies and Gentlemen, The Bronx is Burning: 1977, Baseball, Politics, and the Battle for the Soul of a City, published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. After their discussion on New York City in 1977, touching on crime, race, baseball, and politics, Mr. Mahler answered questions from members of the audience. 

Live scenes of the book fair were shown. Mr. Mahler then was interviewed by video remote from Washington, D.C. and responded to telephone calls from viewers. close
