Senator Byrd talked about his memoir Robert C. Byrd: Child of the Appalachian Coalfields, published by West Virginia University. The book recounted the Senator’s life experiences from growing up in Stotesbury, W.Va., in the early 1920s to his election to an eighth U.S. Senate term in 2000. During the presentation, Sen. Byrd explained that this is not only his story, but also the story of West Virginia. close
