Last week the U.S. Senate passed the Central America and Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), which would eliminate almost all tariffs and trade restrictions for U.S. imports from six Latin American nations. The legislation will go before the U.S. House next.

Leaders of the Latino community talked about CAFTA. Mr. Daubon was the only participant who was pro-CAFTA. Topics included democracy in Central America, technology, rural development plans, and domestic policy agendas. After their presentations the panelists answered audience members' questions. close
